Why 1972 Designs?
1972 was the year I was conceived and born into this world. I am highly influenced by television of the late 70s and early 80s. This early exposure led me to begin shooting stop motion animation movies at the age of 8.
Animation Cells of Count Chocula from a Cocoa Crips commercial and a Brainy Smurf from a Smurfs episode are hung on my walls.
Slinky? got it. Atari? got it. Chia Pet? got it.
What do you do professionally?
I am a multi-media designer and developer specializing in producing and delivering video for the web. I work with the Final Cut Pro Suite of products and Adobe's Creative Suite for print, internet and web animation work. I've been working with video for 20 years and web design/development for the past 10 years.
What does Jim do in his spare time?
Glad you asked. I am a life long skateboarder and musician. I'm also a competitive slalom skateboarder and enjoy what's called "Old School" skating. Drawing from my TV experience, I produce, shoot and edit skateboarding videos for online viewing.
I am currently pursuing my love for late night TV by writing and directing a straight to DVD release
B-Horror movie.
